Movies Review: Khiladi 786

Movies Review: Khiladi 786: Bollywood movies with some Punjabiness makes a perfect fit for audience to enjoy. But, movie like Son Of Sardaar and Khiladi 786 to some extent proved that its time for Bollywood to think again before making such movies.

Akshay Kumar (Bahattar Singh) plays the role of a person who always declares: Punjabi na toh chup chaap aate hain, na chup chaap jaate hain. Bahattar Singh is not able to find a wife for himself. Himesh Reshammiya plays a Gujarati wedding organiser who struggles to help his father in wedding business. He then tries to pair Bahattar Singh with the sister of underworld don TTT or Tatya Tukaram Tendulkar (Mithun Chakraborty) i.e. Asin.

Akshay Kumar's acting is same like his Khiladi movie in the past. Asin plays a good role with surprisingly good acting by Himesh.

On the whole, this movie has a good humor in the first half which keeps audience involved in it. However, 2nd half is much focused on story rather than comedy. Bollywood Paradise gives Khiladi 786 2.8+ stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Son of Sardaar

Movies Review: Son of Sardaar: Son of Sardaar is the worst comedy movie of 2012. You will hardly find any humor in the movie.

Ajay Devgn's tried to oversmart with his action sequences in the movie, but they proved crude in technical finesse. Some scenes like Punjabi hero’s unfurling turban, looking exactly like glossy paper, hero playing with villains like tennis ball bouncing him up and down makes you feel what the heck is happening.

Ajay Devgn (Jassi) returns from London to sell his ancestral land in village. His family has had a history of violence against the village’s family, led by Billu (Sanjay Dutt). Billu keeps on awaiting for the return of Jassi to take avenge. Billu vowed not to marry Juhi Chawla (Pammi) before he kills Jassi. Then Jassi meets Sukh (Sonakshi Sinha), Billu’s younger sister, and they fall in love with each other. Then starts the rubbish and meaningless story with only motive to cover songs and make it a 2 hrs 20 min movie.

Ajay Devgn's acting after his hit movie Singham makes you think about his potential. Same is the case with Sanjay Dutt here. Juhi Chawla's & Sonakshi's acting impresses audience to some extent. Salman has a short role in the beginning of the movie. You will feel like you are watching Salman type meaningless movie.

On the whole, Son of Sardaar is the worst movie in 2012, which leaves other meaningless movies like Bodyguard and Ready behind it. You will keep on waiting for some comedy scenes in the movie. However, SOS is not so lengthy movie, but you will be forced to leave the multiplex in advance before its completion. Bollywood Paradise gives Son Of Sardaar 1.5 stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Talaash

Movies Review: Talaash: Talaash is a simple suspense film without an edge-of-the-seat experience.

The movie starts with a car accident leading to the death of a famous film actor. A random road accident takes the shape of a murder mystery with Inspector Shekhawat (Aamir Khan) investigating the case. Shekhawat is unhappy in his personal life and holds himself responsible for the death of his 8-year old son, which results in a strained relationship with his wife (Rani Mukherji). Then he meets Rosy (Kareena Kapoor), a sex worker who helps him in his case.

The movie revolves around two fundamental tracks - Shekhawat's accident investigation and his personal exploration due to death of his son. One expects the two tracks to correlate with each other right from the start to make it one whole story, but they stay independent of each other till the end.

There is no stylized action with no item numbers in the movie. In the second half, there is a bonding track between Aamir and Kareena which makes audience feel where the film is heading towards.

Aamir Khan acts brilliant with his professional and personal roles. On the one side, he is strong with commanding cops at work, and on the other he is a vulnerable man at home. Rani Mukherji also acts good in her role of a woman who has come out of a personal tragedy. Kareena Kapoor looks appealing, but she seems to be in the Chameli character hangover. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is perfect in his role and Rajkumar Yadav as subordinate to Aamir also impresses.

The identity of the accident suspect can be guessed by the audience, so there is a lack of big suspense in the movie. The sense of suspense seems suspended from the movie.

There are some mystery and suspense elements in the movie, which makes the movie a one-time watch. But if you are looking to watch a finest suspense thriller, you will be surely be disappointed with Talaash. On the whole, Bollywood Paradise gives Talaash 3.2+ stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Jab Tak Hai Jaan

Movies Review: Jab Tak Hai Jaan: Nowadays, love stories mean instant breakups and sex before love. Its heartening to see a full-blown story with romance showing good old values with a advanced outlook.

Shah Rukh Khan as Samar Anand continues his charm of romantic roles and wooing girls who are already engaged. Samar Anand is a smalltime labour in London and Meera (Katrina Kaif) belongs to a millionaire family. They fall in love with each other and when everything seems to be going in favor of them, an accident separates the lovers. After many years, a documentary filmmaker Akira (Anushka Sharma) meets Samar, who is now a bomb-squad officer and also falls in love with him. When Samar comes to London for helping Akira, another accident changes his life.

The first half of the movie is all about love and romance between SRK and Katrina, filled with songs at regular intervals. Second half of the movie starts with amazing performance by Anushka as modern generation girl. Her performance keeps the audience involved in the movie.

Shah Rukh as always lives up to expectations as a romantic hero. His charm in the first half wins hearts of every girl. Katrina also tried to impress audience with her romantic avtaar and succeeded in her attempt also. Anushka's charm wins heart of audience and her acting can be rated as best in the movie.

The film's structure is like Yash Chopra's earlier movie Veer-Zaara, where the lovers remain separated for many years, didn't get married and then another woman helps in bringing them together. This Yash Chopra's love story is essentially desi at heart with some advancement.

On the whole, first half of the movie is bit stretched and sometimes can make you bore due to regular inclusion of songs, but second half keeps audience involved due to good story. We give Jab Tak Hai Jaan 3.9+ stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Aiyyaa

Movies Review: Aiyyaa: The movie is an expression of surprise in Marathi. Unfortunately it turns out to be a shock in Hindi. The movie is boring and can put you to sleep.

Meenakshi (Rani Mukherji) is an average Marathi girl from Pune and her middle-class family is in search of a groom for her. Meenakshi starts liking Surya (Prithviraj) plainly because he smells good. Surya is an artist in his own world and is indifferent towards everything. After much dreams by Meenakshi, Aiyyaa ends up in a situation where the girl runs away from her mandap to be with the man of his dream and finally gets him.

There is no chemistry between the couple except the sensuously shot dreamy item songs. Every attempt by the director has been made to add humour, but it falls flat miserably.

Rani Mukherji adds extra energy in the movie with her acting skills, but you will certainly stop rooting for her character after a while. Prithviraj is emotionless with few dialogues in the movie. Subodh Bhave as Rani's future husband is decent in his role. Ameya Wagh as the younger brother acts good in his role.

Aiyyaa turns out to a shock with the story much over stretched. The songs are the only plus point in the movie. Bollywood Paradise gives Aiyyaa 1.5 stars out of 5!

Movies Review: Barfi!

Movies Review: Barfi: Barfi is Anurag Basu's most imaginative movie ever. This movie has proved that the hit movie doesn't always require top Khans, but the story and actors' performances can do the work.

Barfi! proves that Ranbir is surely going to climb the ladder of success in a short time. His performance is inspired from many top-rated personalities like Charlie Chaplin, Monsieur Hulot, Raj Kapoor and Kishore Kumar.

The film is shot mostly in Darjeeling. The movie ends in a love triangle, which is much different from regular Bollywood types. This triangle is sweet, sublime and differently told. There is little bit of mystery factor involved in this story too.

In Darjeeling lives the deaf and mute Barfi (Ranbir), who never runs out of goofy ideas. He meets Shruti (Ileana D̢۪Cruz), daughter of a rich Kolkata household, and both fell in love with each other. However, Shruti is already engaged and soon going to be married and also not able decide who to choose.

Barfi's father falls ill forcing him to resort to crime, making the entry of Priyanka Chopra as the autistic Jhilmil as she belongs to a rich family.

Priyanka's and Ranbir's performances are surely their best ever performances till now. Ileana also leaves a great impression on the audience in her debut role.

Barfi! is a pleasant and different art film, which may not appeal universal audience. The movie can be definitely rated 5 out 5 acting wise. However, its story is bit stretched and gets confusing sometimes also. On the whole, TRP gives Barfi! 3.7+ stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Raaz 3

Movies Review: Raaz 3: The movie is about hatred and jealousy between the two actresses, which forces one to use black magic over the other to gain stardom back in the industry.

Shanaya (Bipasha Basu) is a top actress who is falling slowly off the heights of stardom, while new aspirant Sanjana (Esha Gupta) is taking her position and winning awards. To save her career, self-obsessed Shanaya is ready to do anything. She loses god-faith and risks her love director boyfriend Aditya (Emraan Hashmi). She uses Kali Vidya (black magic), tantra-mantra, and seduces her boyfriend to partner-in-crime. Sanjana then starts getting haunted by spells of black magic, and loses her mind and heart. After watching Sanjana passing through such horrors, Aditya leaves Shanaya and starts helping Sanjana to gain freedom from black magic.

The storyline of the movie is fairly simple. The director Vikram Bhatt uses horror show scenes in 3D, with elements like the usual fog, kabrastans to make audience involved in the movie. The music of the movie is not like a regular Bhatts camp movie, which always remain on the top of the chart.

Bipasha looks scarily amazing in her role. This role is best suited for her. Emraan shows different shades in the movie and acts fine in the movie. Esha Gupta attracts the audience again after Jannat-2 movie with her strong emotional scenes.

On the whole, Raaz-3 is a entertaining movie with some strong horror scenes in the first half, while the second half of the movie is much focused on the story line up. If you want to enjoy horror scenes, go and watch movie in 3D. The movie is a one-time watch. TRP gives Raaz-3, 3+ stars out of 5!

Movies Review: The Expendables 2

Movies Review: The Expendables 2: The movie is a full action-packed movie with famous action heroes. The movie surpasses the first version because of strong thrills and action performances.

Sylvester Stallone and his band of persons are assigned a mission to retrieve a cache of plutonium before it falls into the hands some rivals. Female actress Nan Yu gets added in the group to give some help. The story takes a turn when rivals attack the group and kill one of their members.

There are many macho heavyweights in the movie including Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li etc. Sylvester Stallone displays the strongest performance in the movie with his strong acting skills and action performances. There are strong action sequences including martial arts actions, and strong action scenes from helicopters to jet skis.

Every actor in the movie has been given enough screen time to display their performance and talent. On the whole, The Expendables-2 is a good short-duration movie, which will attract action-lovers. The movie can be said as a one-time watch. TRP gives The Expendables-2, 3 stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Ek Tha Tiger

Movies Review: Ek Tha Tiger: The movie is about a RAW agent (Salman Khan) who falls in love with Zoya (Katrina Kaif) while being on a mission. The movie is not like Salman's past mindless comedies and inflated action flicks. However, this movie under Yash Raj banner, directed by Kabir Khan is a sober and bit sensible than others.

Tiger (Salman Khan) goes to Dublin for a mission to keep an eye on a science professor. He meets Zoya (Katrina Kaif) there and unexpectedly falls in love with her. But, Zoya also turns out be an undercover mission sent by ISI Pakistan. Then starts the conflict in Tiger's mind to choose between love and duty.

The movie is well balanced story, including love story and the spy drama. The movie has many action scenes choreographed by Hollywood stunt coordinator Conrad Palmisano. Not many of the scenes are of that variety where a dozen goons go flying in the air. But there are some overacted scenes like when Tiger jumps to a flying plane from a bike. Action scenes by Katrina Kaif are also done with full perfection.

Salman Khan after a long time is seen in a movie with a good story and acts best. Katrina Kaif as always is gorgeous and shows good acting as well as action skills. Ranvir Shorey as Salman's associate of RAW also gives a good supporting cast.

On the whole, Ek Tha Tiger is Salman Khan's best movie in recent times. Hope this movie provides him some cues to choose good stories in the future. The movie will mostly keep you involved in it and can be said as a one-time watch. TRP rates Ek Tha Tiger 3.2+ stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Jism-2

Movies Review: Jism-2: Jism-2 is a sexy movie with a good story. However, the movie is not as dirty as one is expecting.

The movie starts with a hot scene by Izna (Sunny Leone) in all red lingerie. Ayaan (Arunoday Singh) is an intelligence bureau who offers Izna to work in a special task for the bureau. Ayaan and his superior officer Guru Saldanah (Zakaria) offers her 10 crores to get data from Kabir (Randeep Hooda), her former lover, through her sex appeal. Kabir went from an honest cop to political assassin and becomes insane.

Ayaan and Izna pretends to be engaged and lives next door to Kabir, who is hiding out as a musician in Galle, Sri Lanka. During the act, Ayaan also falls in love with Izna.

Sunny Leone sometimes acts nice with her cute smile, but also fails sometimes to deliver with her acting skills. She seals the movie with a strong closing line. Randeep Hooda's acting is the strongest in the movie. After his strong act in this movie, he can be in the major league for one of the best future actors. His strong voice with perfect diction is his major plus point. Arunoday Singh sometimes overacts in the movie, specially when he confesses his love for Izna

Jism-2  has also a suspense in the end, when Izna learns some new facts about Intelligence Bureau. On the whole, Jism-2 is a story which will never allow you to leave your seats for even a minute, not only due to hot scenes, but also due to its strong story. Its not only a movie about sex, it's a movie with a strong story also. TRP gives Jism 2 4- stars out of 5!

Movies Review: Carry On Jatta

Movies Review: Carry On Jatta: The movie forwards the league of romantic comedy "Jatt and Juliet". The movie is about a bunch of lies which end in great confusion with a series of chaotic, yet comic outcomes.

Advocate Raminder Bajwa (Jaswinder Bhalla) lived with his 2 sons Goldie (Binnu Dhillon) and Sunny (Gippy Grewal). Goldie is married to Preeti, while Sunny has his own business. Rocky (Gurpreet Ghuggi) is Sunny’s best friend and son of Police Inspector Sikander Tiwana (B.N. Sharma). Rocky wants to get married to a rich girl - Nikki. However, Sunny falls in love with Mahie (Mahie Gill).

Circumstances compel Sunny to lie to Mahie, which results in a large sequences of lies with good comedy. Both friends have to hide their wives and family from each other.

Binnu Dhillon had an good chemistry with Jaswinder Bhalla, and their strong comic timings delight audiences. Gurpreet Ghuggi again proved what he is capable of. BN Sharma delivers another strong funny role in this movie as well. Gippy Grewal peformed exceptionally well in his comedy role, while  Mahie Gill acts good, but not as good as other actors.

The movie has many songs in the beginning, but that sets good tone for the remaining part in the first half.

Overall Carry On Jatta is full-on comedy movie. The last part of the movie is stretched a bit. Just go and enjoy the amazing Punjabi punches without caring for the story-line. TRP gives Carry On Jatta 3.5- stars out of 5!

Movies Review: Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum

Movies Review: Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum: KSKHH is a full-on entertainer that is targeted towards audience who want to enjoy sex-coomedy jokes. The movie is full of dirty jokes in the first half, but just can’t hold up much laughs in the second half.

The movie is about two unemployed individuals who have different ambitions in life. Adi (Tusshar Kapoor) wants to become an actor, while Sid (Riteish Deshmukh) wants to become top-rated DJ.

The movie revolves around their life in the first half, whereas second-half is mostly dominated by Mr Marlow (Anupam Kher) story. Anu’s mom’s name: Rosmary Marlow (Roz-Meri-Maar-Lo) is only the best joke post first half.

Sarah Jane Dias performs well as Anu, while Neha Sharma overacts a bit as Simi in the movie. Anupam Kher played amazing role as disillusioned billionaire who is follower of Chunky Pandey as Baba 3G. Rohit Shetty is fun in a guest role.

Riteish, as always, is amazing with his comedy timings and does a great job in the movie and for Tusshar, it can be said that he acts good only in his sister's Ekta and Rohit Shetty films.

On the whole, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum will get good response from young audience, but matured audience will strongly going to hate this vulgar comedy movie. The movie is full of sexual tone, adult jokes and impish humor. One strong advise for persons going to watch this movie: Don't expect much from the movie and don't go with your parents. TRP gives Kyaa super kool hain hum 2.9+ stars out of 5!

Movies Review: The Dark Knight Rises

Movies Review: The Dark Knight Rises: Christopher Nolan's third movie in the series has again won the hearts of millions of fans.

The movie keeps audience fixed to their seats through the entire run of this 2 hours 45 minutes dark action thriller. Right from the first movie in the series, ‘Batman Begins’ to ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, the director is only improving and becoming more experienced in entertaining audience. However, Joker of ‘The Dark Knight’, played by late Heath Ledger won hearts of many persons than Batman played by Christian Bale. But this time, we have even more dangerous adversary in the form of Bane (Tom Hardy) who is intelligent as well as much more strong than our hero.

The story starts eight years after the death of Harvey Dent. Police Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) is convinced that crime has been curbed after Dent’s death. But on the other side, Bane is planning to bring Gotham city down to hell. This challenges Batman to come out of his shell again.

The film also has the ‘Catwoman’ (Anne Hathway), who lures batman to his most powerful opponent who in a fight overpowers Batman and breaks his back and dump him to rot. Batman has not only to save his city but to fight against his own self.

The movie has a strong climax with a big suspense in the end about the main person behind all the plans to bring Gotham down. The movie will keep you involved throughout. It has strong action scenes and great climax. The Dark Knight Rises is a must watch movie, but do watch its previous part "The Dark Knight" before going for this part. TRP gives The Dark Knight Rises 4.2+ stars out of 5!

Movies Review: Cocktail

Movies Review: Cocktail: The movie is about a love triangle, in which the actor falls in love with his girl friend's friend.

Meera (Diana Penty) starts living with Veronica (Deepika Padukone), after she gets dumped by Kunal (Randeep Hooda). Meera is desi at heart, while Veronica is a party-animal and wild-child. However, they get close and become close friends within days. Then enter Gautam (Saif Ali Khan), who is a big flirt. He starts a torrid affair with Veronica and starts living with her. Meera dislikes Gautam due to his flirty behavior. But then Gautam and Meera fall in love.

You will see entertainment in the first half of the movie. Director tried to make a rom-com movie, which got complex in the second half. The film falls heavily in the post-interval portions. The first hour is  fascinating and pleasurable, but the second hour is irritating with too many songs, and an over-stretched and a slow story.

The songs of Cocktail are very nice. Saif and Deepika team up third time after LOVE AAJ KAL and AARAKSHAN. Saif's acting as a flirt is amazing. He completely fits into his character. Deepika lets herself loose in her character and gives an incredible performance. Diana leaves a good impression on the audience in her acting debut. Her innocence and simplicity impresses a great deal. Dimple Kapadia as Gautam's North Indian mother is nice in her role. Boman Irani's also lives up to his role. Randeep Hooda's short character doesn't get much scope in the movie.

On the whole, COCKTAIL has a nice first half with humor, love, lust and the trendy look and styling, but the second half is equally disappointing as it is much overstretched without any strong screenplay. TRP gives Cocktail 2.3- stars out of 5!

Movies Review: Bol Bachchan

Movies Review: Bol Bachchan: The movie has strong humor with action. The movie takes a hint from Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Golmaal. It seems like one is watching the modern version of Golmaal movie with better technique and present-day stars.

The movie starts with a lie, which results in comedy of errors. Abbas (Abhishek Bachchan) lies to the most powerful man of Ranakpur, Prithviraj (Ajay Devgn).
Abbas was suffering from financial problems which lead him to his uncle Shastri's (Asrani) house in Ranakpur, to get a job to take care of himself and his sister Sania (Asin). Abbas accidentally falls to a situation which makes his friend Ravi (Krushna) lie about Abbas name. He then gets a job as a supervisor with the lie hater Prithviraj. Then starts series of lies in front of his boss. He also falls in love with Prithviraj's sister (Prachi Desai).

Ajay is super-efficient and his comic timing is very strong in the movie. Ajay's desirability to speak in English language brings strong humor. Abhishek also acts well in the movie, with his superb performance as Abbas as Gay. His dancing act at the interval point is incredible.

Asin also does well with her limited screen time. Prachi Desai gets good opportunity to showcase her talent. Krushna Abhishek is supremely talented and has strong sense of humor in this movie. Archana Puransingh is, as always, fabulous. Asrani once again does complete justice to his role.

The movie has some amazing action scenes as Rohit Shetty showcases in most of his movies, with vehicles flying in the air most of the time.

On the whole, Bol Bachchan is an entertainer with comedy and action. The ending of the movie is very much stretched, making difficult for the audience to sit on their seats. TRP gives BOL Bachchan 2.9+ stars out of 5!

Movies Review: Jatt and Juliet

Movies Review: Jatt and Juliet: The movie is a typical love story that makes you fall in love with its story and characters. Even though the story hasn't anything different to offer, but still it touches the hearts.

Fateh Singh (Diljit) and Pooja (Neeru Bajwa) go to Canada to settle their lives there. Fateh Singh wants to marry with some citizenship girl and get settle there, while Pooja goes there to study before her marriage with her childhood friend.

Chemistry starts when both of them have to share the same house and same jobs. The fighting between them has strong comedy, which will keep audience involved in the first half and almost half of second part as well. Another comedians  like Jaswinder Bhalla, Upasna Singh, Rana Ranbir, Karamjit Anmol and B.N. Sharma also provides complete entertainment to the audience.

This movie presents the best performance so far of both Diljit and Neeru. Not even a single scene will make the audience feel bore. The story never looses its theme for even a single scene.

The ending of the movie gets little slow when Diljit and Neeru gets separated and meets each other again. Sharry Maan's Song Pooja Kime Aa has been the best song in the movie.

On the whole, Jatt and Juliet is a ravishing romantic comedy for young hearts. The movie is full of comedy and romance, which keeps the audience engaged in the movie. The movie is a must-watch for persons who loves comedy. TRP gives Jatt and Juliet 4+ stars out of 5!

Movies Review: The Amazing Spider-Man

Movies Review: The Amazing Spider-Man: The movie starts with the mysterious disappearance of Peter Parker’s parents. Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man grows up under his aunt May (Sally Field) and Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen).

Peter has a crush on his pretty classmate Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Peter is curious to learn more about his missing father. To find about him, he sneaks around Connors’ office and ends up getting bitten by a genetically modified spider. Then the bite makes Peter stronger and faster. Then, he gets his lady love and starts having fun with his Spider powers.

A cruel twist of fate takes his Uncle Ben away from him. Connors uses Peter’s formula that belonged to Peter’s father and uses it to renew his stump of an arm. In reality, Connors begins to wreak havoc with his newfound powers. In this series, Spiderman reveals his identity to many persons unlike earlier parts, where his identity wasn't revealed to many.

Andrew Garfield has done a nice job as Spider-Man and Peter Parker. Emma Stone is very good in her role also. Rhys Ifans does well as Dr. Curt Connors, but fails to deliver as The Lizard. Denis Leary as Captain Stacy (Gwen’s father), Martin Sheen and Sally Field also acted well. Irrfan Khan's role is very short role as an officer of Oscorp in the movie, but is pointing towards a good role in this series 2nd part.

On the whole, The Amazing Spider-Man is a one-time watch. However, the movie is not as good as per its strong hypes. The movie will keep you involved, but villain's (The Lizard) character could be improved. TRP gives The Amazing Spiderman 3- starts out of 5!

Movies Review: Teri Meri Kahaani

Movies Review: Teri Meri Kahaani: The movie runs through the tagline "Thrice upon a love story". The movie has three different episodes of love stories in different generations and history keeps repeating itself to narrate the same love story.

The first episode has an aspiring musician Govind and a film actress Rukhsar in the 60s. The second episode has Krrish falling for Radha over tweets. In the third, there's the Punjabi kudi Aradhana and Javed in a pre-independent era.

The lovers meet each other in all three love stories in the end. The basic idea of presenting three love stories over three different eras is merely visual presentation.

The movie narrates the love story of lovers and the way they gets separated in the first part. The way they come back meet each other is presented simultaneously in the climax. This presentation does nothing, but confuses viewers making the individual stories lack novelty.

Shahid Kapoor acts best in the pre-independence era and impresses audience with his shayari. Priyanka Chopra sometimes over expresses in the movie, but gave her best in the pre-independence era story. Prachi Desai and Neha Sharma also impress audience in their short roles.

Teri Meri Kahaani is an ordinary story of lovers, which Kunal Kohli tries to express in some special way, but somehow fails to deliver his best again in the end. The first part of the movie will keep you involved in the movie, with the first story being the most impressive one, followed by the third one. On the whole, TMK is a good movie, if you forget the post-interval part. TRP gives Teri Meri Kahani 3- stars out of 5!

Movies Review: Gangs of Wasseypur

Movies Review: Gangs of Wasseypur: The movie is all about story of Dhanbaad and specifically Wasseypur. The movie starts with a long opening sequence where a gang relentlessly showers bullets at the haveli of their rival gang.

The movie can be well praised in terms of its screenplay, but long story line fails to impress audience. It is full of fighting, abusive language and drama. Some times you may feel that there is over-use of abusive language to attract audience. That's the reason the movie is awarded "A" status.

Sardar Khan (Manoj Bajpayee) is the lead actor, whose only aim is to take revenge of the death of his father by Ramadheer Singh (Tigmanshu Dhulia). Sardar Khan marries 2 women, Rajini (Richa Chhada) and Durga (Reema Sen).

The movie also gives a brief introduction to Wasseypur and its ancient inhabitants. The movie is mostly narrated by Piyush Mishra to describe what's happening. The movie starts from the pre-independence era, and reaches recent times.

The performance of Manoj Bajpayee in the movie is remarkable. Persons can get bored from the movie, but Manoj Bajpayee is the one ho will keep them involved in the movie. His presence illuminates every sequence that he emerges in. Richa Chadda and Reemma Sen have meaty roles in the movie. The acting of all actors can be well-praised in the movie.

On the whole, the movie has all the trappings of an entertainer, but with a difference.  But one needs to be patient and have a really strong belly to absorb a film like GANGS OF WASSEYPUR. The movie is not like a regular Bollywood movie. There can be 2 complete opposite reactions for the movie. One can say that he has wasted his money, while other can think that it is full worth of money. TRP gives 2.6- out of 5 for Gangs of Wasseypur.

Movies Review: Ferrari Ki Sawaari

Movies Review: Ferrari Ki Sawaari: It is a simple movie about a talented boy who wants to play for team India.

Kayo (Ritvik Sahore) is a school kid but is a very strong cricketer. He wants to go to the Lords Stadium in London for coaching, which requires a hefty coaching fees. His father Rustom (Sharman Joshi), is not a rich person and fails to get any loan also.

Then he meets a wedding planner, who requires a Ferrari for a local corporator's son wedding. In a chance encounter, Rustom gets his hands on Sachin Tendulkar's Ferrari and he takes the car without informing anyone.

Humour and drama move along in the film. The movie will make you laugh in one scene and gets a lump in your throat in the next scene.

Boman Irani, as the grandpa, due to his bitter past with cricket, doesn't approve of the sport anymore. But as the time pass and after watching his grandson play strong cricket, he also approves the same.

Sharman Joshi plays a nice role as a father. Boman Irani as always has a strong screen presence. Ritvik Sahore also plays his part well. Paresh Rawal is impressive in his short role.

The movie never seems boring despite of 1 or 2 scenes which are stretched. The movie will touch your heart for its modesty. TRP gives 3.2 stars out of 5 to Ferrari ki Sawaari.

Movies Review: Rowdy Rathore

Movies Review: Rowdy Rathore: This movie has two Akshay Kumar with a difference in style to their moustache. The film never uses the double role formula to its advantage. Mr. Rowdy (Shiva) just steps into Rathore's shoes after the death of Vikram Rathore.

The story is about Vikram Rathore (Akshay Kumar) who is an honest and courageous cop against the village gang-lord (Nasser). First half of the movie revolves around Shiva's lousy love story with Sonakshi Sinha.

Action-lovers audience will get disappointed in the first half of the movie, as this part just contains love scenes. Hope arrives when the other Akshay (Rathore) comes into with strong action scenes.

Rowdy Rathore is remake from Ravi Teja starrer Telugu film Vikramarkudu. The movie has many negative points like the strong Rathore fails to kill villains, but the other Shiva kills all villains, despite he was not shown strong in the movie anywhere.

Akshay Kumar is good, but not so nice in his lover boy role. Original Vikram Rathore grabs attention of the audience in his short role and also pulls off the action convincingly. Sonakshi Sinha has a major role only in the first half, while she appears rarely in the second half. Akshay Kumar's dancing chemistry with Vijay and Prabhu is good and well choreographed. Overall, Rowdy Rathore gets 3- out of 5 from TRP.

Movies Review: Shanghai

Movies Review: Shanghai: Shanghai is a story of current situation in India, where govt wants to work on an infrastructure project, which in turn affect living of several residents of Bharat Nagar.

The person opposing the project, Ahmedi is run over by a speeding van, which was a pre-planned murder. Police pass-off the case as a drunken accident, while adherent Shalini (Kalki Koechlin) knows about the murder. A bureaucrat Krishnan (Abhay Deol) is appointed to investigate the case. A local videographer Jogi (Emraan Hashmi) claims that he has evidence on the mishap.

The two male leads have strong characters in the movie. Jogi (Abhay) in the end had the option of solving the case or running away from home. In the end, he solved case in a very smart manner.

The movie is not a suspense-thriller as the murderer in known right from the opening scene. But the actual brain behind murder was known in the end. So the film is basically about the 3 protagonists trying to fight against the system.

Shanghai almost redefines Emraan Hashmi from his typical kissing characters and lover-boy image. You will see a new Emraan in Shanghai. Abhay Deol, as the South Indian, is brilliant as always in his role. Kalki Koechlin also impresses audience with her intensity in act. Farooq Sheikh also acts good as the scheming politician.

Shanghai is a movie for persons who wants to understand story and remain in their seats with their attention to details. It is not a movie for persons who wants to come to multiplexes for enjoyment. The movie is of short duration, around 1 hour 56 minutes. So persons watching movie will never get bored. On an all, Shanghai gets 2.9+ out of 5.

Movies Review: Men In Black 3

Movies Review: Men In Black 3: With the entry of new face, Josh Brolin in MIB-3, the movie's cast looks good. The old man Tommy as Agent K has his role in 1st half, whereas Brolin plays out a younger avatar of Agent K.

Smith who plays as Agent J has to travel back in time to save the world from space scum. A hideous alien named Boris the Animal escapes from a prison. The alien escaped and travelled back to 1969 to kill K before his arrest. So, Agent J follows him into 1969 to save K.

The climax, where J and K installs a security gadget on Apollo 11 was shot in a very nice way.

MIB 3 is a must-watch movie due to sci-fi scenes along with good humor to keep audience engaged. Overall Rating: 4 stars out of 5.

B.N Sharma, Binnu Dhillon and Rana Ranbir adds a lot of humour to the movie.

Movies Review: Ishaqzaade

Movies Review: Ishaqzaade: The movie is about the lovers from two rival parties in politics. It's the war of the roses. The movie is full of bandooks, badmaashi, goondas and gaalis.

Parma (Arjun Kapoor) and Zoya (Parineeti Chopra) are childhood hate-mates, born in small-town Almore, where guns are a fashion accessory and persons can kill anyone for dancing girl Chand (Gauhar Khan). Parma and Zoya start as haters but turn into lovers. Their families are rivals, who don't want them live together and want to kill both of them.

Arjun Kapoor acts strong in his debut movie, showing arrogance in the first half and love in the end. Parineeti Chopra is effervescent with his charming smile. Gauhar Khan keeps audience involved with her dancing numbers and acting skills.

The first half of the movie will keep you fully involved in the movie, while second half fails to maintain the crescendo. If crispness was maintained in the 2nd half, the movie could have been much much better. On an all, the movie starts with a bang, but ends up blank. Overall Rating: 2.9+ out of 5.

Movies Review: Jannat 2

Movies Review: Jannat 2: The movie is about a small-time crook, who tries to improve himself when he falls in love. It is a love story with a crime-drama involved in it.

Sonu Dilli (Emraan Hashmi) is an illegal guns supplier, who falls in love with Jhanvi (Esha Gupta). After falling in love, he tries to reform himself. But ACP Pratap Raghuvanshi (Randeep Hooda) wants Sonu to use as an informer and pushes him back into that business. Sonu keeps on swinging between the life of a cop, criminals and love.

The director used age-old love-at-first-sight for the movie. The movie doesn't has much romance elements, but keeps audience involved with crime-drama. The movie is full of abusive language to get that cinematic impact of today's criminal world. The dialogues are effective in the movie. Pritam's music also works well. The cinematography by Bobby Singh especially in the chase sequences is amazing.

Jannat 2 turns out strong only because of its two male leads Emraan and Randeep, who have strong compelling screen presence. Emraan Hashmi is charming and puts in a convincing act. Randeep Hooda's character sometimes overshadow Emraan's character in the movie and breathes life into his character. His vocal chords adds remarkable presence to the screen. Esha Gupta adds to the glam quotient, but requires to improve a bit on her acting skills.

Overall, the movie will keep you involved. If the director had balanced romance and crime well in the movie, the movie could be much better. But, Jannat 2 is a one-time watch and a good movie on an all! Overall Rating: 3.3 stars out of 5!
