Movies Review: Agent Vinod

Movies Review: Agent Vinod: Saif Ali Khan tries to be India's James Bond in the movie. Till now, Bollywood industry has not been able to come up with a secret agent movie like the Hollywood ones. But this movie is better than all other till now.

A movie with the same title in 1977, starring Mahendra Sandhu, proved a big hit. However, the new AGENT VINOD is a nice and stylized movie. The movie is shot in various countries. Its hard to keep the number of cities in mind while watching the movie. The movie starts with many unconnected events, all over the globe like in Uzbekistan, Cape Town, Moscow. One of the secret agent, Ravi Kishan is shot dead while trying to send a code to India. However, the message code 242 remains unclear to the RAW.

The case for finding out 242 code is then handed over to Vinod (Saif Ali Khan). Vinod was sent to Moscow, where he finds Abu Nazar (Ram Kapoor) as one of the hints to investigate the case. He keeps on finding many persons involved in all that and keeps roaming around different countries to find hints.

Then he meets Mafiosi Kazan (Prem Chopra) and Dr Ruby (Kareena Kapoor). He then finds out the whole operation to made for an attack in New Delhi.

You need to watch the movie with a vigilant mind, as this movie requires your strong concentration, if you want to understand the whole concept.

The songs 'Pungi', 'Raabta' and the mujra, 'Dil Mera Muft Ka', are nicely fimed.
Saif returns as a spy in AGENT VINOD after his simple performance in "Aarakshan". Saif has a distinct style and proves charming all through. Kareena also plays a nice role in the movie.

On the whole, AGENT VINOD is a thriller movie, that demands your concentration. It can be said as a desi Bond movie. Overall Rating: 3 stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Kahaani

Movies Review: Kahaani: The movie lives up to its name with no big stars, no hit songs, low budget and no famous male lead actor. However, the script of the movie is remarkable.

Kahaani is a story is of one pregnant woman Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan), who arrives in Kolkata from London to search her missing husband. Cops were not able to do anything as no record exist about her husband. After some investigation, with the cop Parambrata Chattopadhyay as Rana, Vidya finds that her husband had a lookalike with a intelligence department official turning into a terrorist. She starts finding him to get closer to her search.

After that, Vidya's search for her husband turns into a bureaucratic twist, due to involvement of the intelligence department. The story starts simple, but remains a suspense throughout. It always keep audience guessing what's goin to happen next. But the story requires your absolute attention. If you loose a single moment in the movie, you will not able to understand the movie at all. The climax will leave you spellbound. However, it can leaves you confused also.

Vidya Balan after winning National Award for Dirty Picture, once again proved that she has the ability to act in thriller roles also. Her acting is one of the best so far in the movie. Parambrata Chattopadhyay as cop Rana, also palys a good role and comes out as a revelation. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as Khan, official of the intelligence department., also acts exceptionally well. Final Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5.

The movie's location makes it more realistic. Irrfan Khan's acting in the movie is remarkable. Despite of not many songs in the movie, its story is quite entertaining. The movie is a different movie unlike normal Bollywood Romantic and comedy films. Final Rating: 3.3 stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Gali Gali Chor Hai

Movies Review: Gali Gali Chor Hai: The movie is based on a common man who becomes a victim of corruption. The movie is about a common man, Bharat (Akshaye Khanna), who works as a cashier at a bank in Bhopal and plays role of a Hanuman in the local Ramlila.

Bharat lives with his father (Satish Kaushik), wife (Shriya Saran) and a hot PG (Mugdha Ghodse). When Bharat refuses to give a room to a local politician, the politician chose local policeman (Anu Kapoor) to harass Bharat in every possible way.

The movie starts off nice with the track sung by Kailash Kher. It also shows sufferings of a common man in a good way. But soon the movie loses its comic timing. Akshaye Khanna plays his part in good way. Shriya (Bharat's wife) fits into the part of a housewife.

Gali Gali Chor Hai loses its way after the interval and doesn't live up to expectations. Final Movie Rating: 2.3 stars out of 5

Movies Review: Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu

Movies Review: Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu: It is a rom-com movie of two opposite individuals Rahul (Imran Khan) and Riana (Kareena Kapoor). Rahul is living a boring life, while Riana is enjoying life. They meet co-incidentally and fall in love with each other! No, Its not the case here. Here, boy falls in love, while the girl considers him just a good friend.

Rahul is a boy living life under the shadow of his parents. After a co-incident meet with Riana, they take some drinks and wake up next morning realizing that they got married while being drunk. They decide to take divorce after that. Then Riana loses her rented apartment and lives with Rahul for some time. Rahul starts loosening up in Riana's company and starts enjoying life and falls in love with her.

Then, they fly to India to Riana's home. Then Rahul reveals her the truth that he loves her, but Riana considers him a friend only. Then Rahul walks away and decides to tell his parents that he don't want to live life as per their rules. The pair meet again and decides to live life like best friends only. No marriage, no love in the end!

You will find a good sense of humor and refreshment in the movie. As the movie ends without any love relationship, it can disappoint the ones viewing the film with their love.

Kareena looks cool in her role, and never goes overboard with her chirpy role. Imran also plays his role in a nice way. Their chemistry is good and seems informal. Ratna Pathak Shah acting as Imran's mother is too good in her role. Boman Irani as Imran's business-minded father has limited role, but plays his part well. Final Movie Rating: 3 stars out of 5.

Movies Review: London Paris New York

Movies Review: London Paris New York: LPNY is a romantic movie of a couple, who meet in London and spend three nights, in three beautiful cities. This movie reminds of the Hollywood movie 'Before Sunrise'. LPNY has a light-hearted romance with some interesting conversational chemistry.

Ali Zafar (Nikhil Chopra) adds charm to the movie and is a right candidate for this kind of love story. His acting is natural, sprinkled with some humor and attitude. Aditi Rao Hydari (Lalitha Krishnan) is looks pretty on screen and confidently shows maturity in some scenes. However, she is not able to display right expression and her attempt to bring on the right expression seems forceful.

The director Anu Menon chose a simple subject for his first movie. The screenplay lacks fluency. However, the dialogues are real and good enough to attract the youth. Ali Zafar's music adds freshness to the movie.

LPNY is a sweet and simple story of the couple. It may attract urban couples, but is not likely to attract each segment. Despite of being a short movie of just 100 minutes, the movie seems to be boring at times. The climax is not well written as it leaves audience wondering whether the movie will continue or not. The movie is sure not going to be a big hit. It can just rated as an average movie. Movie Rating: 2.7 out of 5

Movies Review: Jodi Breakers

Movies Review: Jodi Breakers is a movie of divorce expert R.Madhavan (Sid) and Bipasha (Sonali). Jodi Breakers starts wid sum nice story with an unusual and interesting lead pair. The movie is shoted in some nice locations in Greece. However, the movie doesn't has a strong script that keeps audience engaged in the movie. The movie starts with some comedy, then some romance, but loses momentum in the second half.

Helen tries to get audience back in the movie, but not that much that can make movie interesting. Omi Vaidya's comedy was good. He is called Nano in the movie because he is small and sweet. He sometimes repeat his hilarious kind of things that he did in Three Idiots with slight variations but failed to do so.

Madhavan is a divorce expert and changes a bit after his ex-wife offers him a deal to separate a happy couple (Milind Soman and Dipannita Sharma). She offers him an Audi for that and Sid falls for it, which lands him in a great mess. Then romance starts developing between Sid and Sonali.

Jodi Breakers is an average movie. Madhavan's acting is good and Bipasha looks hot and stunning. Their paring made movie better than it is actually. On an all, 2.3 out of 5 for the movie!
