Movies Review: Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya

Movies Review: Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya: The movie, directed by Mandeep Kumar, is a romantic-comedy movie and makes you leave the hall with a smile on your face.

It is mostly said that real-life couples can't make do magic in their movies, but a good story backed by nice acting and chemistry can do anything. Riteish and Genelia acted together in TUJHE MERI KASAM, MASTI and then TNLHG. Both acted great in the movie with Genelia allowed to act freely in the movie and always performs best in these kind of roles. The movie slows down in the middle of the second hour, but  comes alive after some time.

The story revolves around Viren (Riteish) and Mini (Genelia). Mini's father wants her to get married. Viren due to some misunderstanding feels that Bhatti (Mini's father) took his hard-earned money. During Mini's engagement, Viren appears drunk and Mini seizies the opportunity and made her kidnap herself and flees with Viren, making look as if Viren has kidnapped Mini. Then a romance starts developing between the couple.

Movie has some illogical humor, like AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI has, but it keeps audience involved in the movie. The songs in the movie are nice to listen and are peppy and energetic.

Riteish's acting is nice and plays his role beautifully. Genelia, as usual is a livewire with her natural and cool comic timing. Riteish and Genelia together made the movie more appealing. Om Puri's role as Viren's Dad is remarkable and Smita Jaykar also plays her role nicely. Veena Malik's number was not so good.

On the whole, TNLHG is a cool rom-com with refreshing performances by Riteish and Genelia, but slows down sumwhere for about 5-10 min after second half.

Overall Rating: 3+ out of 5

Music Albums Review: London Paris New York

Music Albums Review: London Paris New York: LPNY is written and directed by debutant Anu Menon and stars Ali Zafar and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles. The film will release worldwide on 2 March 2012. Ali Zafar is the Music Composer, Lyricist, Singer and Lead Actor of the movie, London Paris New York (LPNY). Ali was good while singing “Madhubala” (Mere Brother Ki Dulhan) and Tere Bin Laden songs. But its about writing / composing / singing now and its a different challenge. Ali Zafar says, “I wanted to create sounds that are fresh and since the film touches on different emotions I could experiment with genres”.

Song 1: "London Paris New York" starts beautifully with female voice by Sunidhi Chauhan. The singing by Ali Zafar is good. The Hindi-English mixed lyrics will attract listeners . The song is peppy and good to hear.

Song 2: "Vo Dekhnay Mein" is the best song in the album. Ali Zafar created a soft and soothing romantic song with simple lyrics.  Most song is dominated by good piano tone.

Song 3: "Ting Rang" attempts to bring the Punjabi flavour with Dhol and western beats and harmonium. Ali's voice isn't so good for Punjabi tracks as Mika or Master Saleem's. Its video may add some flavor, but as an audio, it’s only an average.

Song 4: "Thehree Si Zindagi" is cool and nice track. Ali Zafar tries to sing like Atif Aslam! Aditi Rao Hydari is also nice as a lead playback singer. The lyrics are also first-class.

Song 5: "Oo Lala" is sung by Hadiqa Kiani and Sanam Marvi of Pakistan. The song starts after one minute of extensive orchestration. Then some Classical-Sufi notes, then English rap and then Ali Zafar's 20 seconds voice. The song is a big experimentation and sorry to say, it fails at the end.

Song 6: "Aaja" starts with a tale by heart-break actor followed by the drunken voice of Ali Zafar. It also has some Punjabi lyrics in it and is a very unusual type of track.

On an all, album has some nice songs but loses its way somewhere. Some songs can be said as an overdose by Ali Zafar to bring more variety.
Best Songs:  “Thehree Si Zindagi” and “Vo Dekhnay Mein”
Overall Rating of the album: 3.2 out of 5.

Bollywood Movies Review: Ekk Deewana Tha

Movies Review: Ekk Deewana Tha is a pure romantic movie with Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson (new comer) playing the lead roles. Gautham Menon, the Director returns to the bollywood after a long time of directing "Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein" movie. The movie is a remake of K. Balachander's roaring hit EK DUUJE KE LIYE.

The director, Menon is a really good director well known for his fine story-telling. But in this movie, he fails to make an impact as he increases the length of the movie for no valid reason. Just when persons start to think that the movie is going to over now, the director start a new chapter in the movie. The music by the great AR Rahman also lacks charisma in the movie and can be only rated OK.

Prateik's acting seems natural in the movie, after playing good roles in Aarakshan and Dhobi Ghat movies. His dancing hip-hop moves in the songs were nice. Amy Jackson looks pretty in the movie. But her make-up was not so good sometimes in the movie. She also tried to leave a good impression on the audience with her pretty looks.

The story starts when the hero falls in love at first site with the actress. He then starts chasing her. After telling her about his feelings, he start following her to Kerala. Even she accepts her love but is afraid of her conservative and religious family. She often seems confused about her love in the movie. Even the audience gets confused whether the couple will meet or not.

The question after interval in mind of audience, Will they get together or not? Actress appears, she likes him, then disappears, then she again appears, she likes him, gets married finallyyyy. On an whole movie is stretched by around 20 minutes. Final Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Movies Review: Agneepath

Remaking Agneepath was a big challenge for Karan Johar as the original movie was a big hit in the past. But Karan took the challenge. The cast of the movie is perfectly chosen. Most impressive characters in the movie were Sanjay Dutt as Kancha and Hrithik as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan. Sanjay Dutt had so strong screen-presence in the movie. Hrithik was also remarkable in the movie with action as well as emotional scenes. Rishi Kapoor played his role of Rauf Lala in a perfect way even he had never acted in such a negative role before. Priyanka's role as Kaali was kept short but she also made her presence felt in the movie. Om Puri and Zarina also played good role in the movie. Kanika Tiwri, a 15-year old girl from Bhopal played the role of Hrithik's sister as Shiksha in the movie. Her role was much appreciable in the movie. The songs in the movie were perfectly placed. Overall Remake of Agneepath was good movie, except some time after interval when the movie seemed to be stretched a bit. Overall rating- 3.5 out of 5.
