Movies Review: Vicky Donor

Movies Review: Vicky Donor: The movie not only revolves around the theme of the sperm donation, but is a family entertainer also as there is no visual or verbal vulgarity in the movie.

Vicky Arora (Ayushmann Khurana) is a jobless Delhi boy with no father. He is pushed by Dr Baldev Chaddha (Annu Kapoor), an infertility clinic owner to donate sperm. After much resistance, Vicky finally agrees for some money and starts making good money out of this. He also marries his love Ashima, a divorcee (Yaami Gautam). However, when she comes to know about his sperm donations, she leaves him. But she comes back after Dr Chaddha made her feel that sperm donation is not a wrong act and helps childless parents.

The romance in the movie is refreshing with strong chemistry between the couple. The movie takes a turn, when it was showed that Vicky's fervent fertility is of no use as his wife can't get pregnant.

Ayushmann Khurana and Annu Kapoor acted brilliantly in their roles. Vicky's acting seems so natural that it never looked he is trying to over act. Ayushmann has really the strong potential in Bollywood. Yaami Gautam is also ravishing and her beauty adds charm in her performance. Annu Kapoor's dialogues incites most laughs. Dolly Ahluwalia (Vicky's mother) acting as Punjabi mother is superlative. Kamlesh Gill (Vicky's modern grandma) is a surprise package with her humorous dialogues, asking for latest iphones and LED TVs.

The movie can be called a love story with sperm donation act or a sperm donation movie with a love story.

The movie is full of strong comedy in the first half with emotional quotient added in the second half. It will never leave you bored for even a minute as the movie's duration is just 2 hours. The dialogues adds to strong humor quotient. Final Rating: 3.4 out of 5.

Movies Review: Housefull 2

Movies Review: Housefull 2: This movie is certainly less silly than Housefull 1. The movie revolves around a character "Jolly" who is a son of the a rich person in the UK, J.D. (Mithun).

Akshay Kumar (Sunny) does a hilarious spin-off on Ranjeet who is father of Sunny. Since there are two action heroes John (Maxx) and Akshay in the movie, fighting scene becomes obvious in the movie. They were earlier best friends, then gets separated, then become friends again, just like in Desi Boys movie.

The first half has more comedy of fathers-of-bride (Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor), who want billionaire son-in-laws for their daughters, which results in comedy or errors in the whole movie. Every father takes some other groom as his son in law and then comedy of mistake starts.

Johnny Lever is the most funny character in the movie. Akshay Kumar as usual is at his best with maximum role in the movie. John Abraham has the second highest role in movie and acts nice with his comic timings. Riteish Deshmukh is too good with his stuck-in-situation expressions. Shreyas Talpade's role is short. Mithun Chakravarthy has a strong screen presence. Rishi Kapoor acts better than Randhir Kapoor. Boman Irani's role is also very short. Jacqueline Fernandes and Asin gets maximum role in the movie and did good in the movie. Though Shahazn Padamsee's role is short, but she makes a good impression in the movie. Zareen Khan seems irritating in the movie.

The movie's comedy has a wacky sense of humour, and gets unnecessarily melodramatic sometimes. If you want to watch a movie with silly comedy timings and don't have any demand for a good script, go and watch the movie. Otherwise, stay away from it. Final Rating: 2.7 out of 5.

Movie Reviews: Mirza - The Untold Story

Movie Reviews: Mirza - The Untold Story: Mirza–Sahiban is a real romantic tragedy love story of Punjab. The movie "Mirza - The Untold story" is also made on the same subject. The movie is much hyped due to Gippy Grewal, Honey Singh, Mandy Takhar and Rahul Dev.

The story is modernized by the director Baljit Singh deo, where Mirza's Bows/Arrows have been replaced by Guns/Pistols, Canada in place of Punjab, Baggi replaced by Ford Mustangs, and finally Mirza with stylish look and tattoos.

Gippy's dialogue delivery is strong along with his cool acting skills. Female lead Mandy Takhar also acted nice as Sahiban and performed emotional scenes well. Honey Singh as Deesha entertained audience very well. Rahul Dev as Jeet was at its best. Binnu Dhillon and B.N Sharma created laughter scenes in the movie.

Action Sequences were also executed well. With the strong hype around, Mirza has achieved best ever Punjabi movie opening response & is likely to break all records. Some songs of the movie are already ruling the charts, but mostly songs were only played in the background. Movie was bit stretched, a bit short could be much better. "Mirza - The Untold Story" has raised bar of Punjabi Cinema. Final Rating: 3 out of 5.

Movies Review: Agent Vinod

Movies Review: Agent Vinod: Saif Ali Khan tries to be India's James Bond in the movie. Till now, Bollywood industry has not been able to come up with a secret agent movie like the Hollywood ones. But this movie is better than all other till now.

A movie with the same title in 1977, starring Mahendra Sandhu, proved a big hit. However, the new AGENT VINOD is a nice and stylized movie. The movie is shot in various countries. Its hard to keep the number of cities in mind while watching the movie. The movie starts with many unconnected events, all over the globe like in Uzbekistan, Cape Town, Moscow. One of the secret agent, Ravi Kishan is shot dead while trying to send a code to India. However, the message code 242 remains unclear to the RAW.

The case for finding out 242 code is then handed over to Vinod (Saif Ali Khan). Vinod was sent to Moscow, where he finds Abu Nazar (Ram Kapoor) as one of the hints to investigate the case. He keeps on finding many persons involved in all that and keeps roaming around different countries to find hints.

Then he meets Mafiosi Kazan (Prem Chopra) and Dr Ruby (Kareena Kapoor). He then finds out the whole operation to made for an attack in New Delhi.

You need to watch the movie with a vigilant mind, as this movie requires your strong concentration, if you want to understand the whole concept.

The songs 'Pungi', 'Raabta' and the mujra, 'Dil Mera Muft Ka', are nicely fimed.
Saif returns as a spy in AGENT VINOD after his simple performance in "Aarakshan". Saif has a distinct style and proves charming all through. Kareena also plays a nice role in the movie.

On the whole, AGENT VINOD is a thriller movie, that demands your concentration. It can be said as a desi Bond movie. Overall Rating: 3 stars out of 5.

Movies Review: Kahaani

Movies Review: Kahaani: The movie lives up to its name with no big stars, no hit songs, low budget and no famous male lead actor. However, the script of the movie is remarkable.

Kahaani is a story is of one pregnant woman Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan), who arrives in Kolkata from London to search her missing husband. Cops were not able to do anything as no record exist about her husband. After some investigation, with the cop Parambrata Chattopadhyay as Rana, Vidya finds that her husband had a lookalike with a intelligence department official turning into a terrorist. She starts finding him to get closer to her search.

After that, Vidya's search for her husband turns into a bureaucratic twist, due to involvement of the intelligence department. The story starts simple, but remains a suspense throughout. It always keep audience guessing what's goin to happen next. But the story requires your absolute attention. If you loose a single moment in the movie, you will not able to understand the movie at all. The climax will leave you spellbound. However, it can leaves you confused also.

Vidya Balan after winning National Award for Dirty Picture, once again proved that she has the ability to act in thriller roles also. Her acting is one of the best so far in the movie. Parambrata Chattopadhyay as cop Rana, also palys a good role and comes out as a revelation. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as Khan, official of the intelligence department., also acts exceptionally well. Final Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5.
